The peel consists of applying an acid solution that will rid the facial skin of the stratum corneum (layer of dead skin cells) and stimulate the fibroblasts (cells that make the collagen responsible for the skin’s tonicité́). The peel allows cell renewal and thus rid the skin of small imperfections (dilated pores, spots, fine lines…).
The skin will thus be better oxygenated, more radiant, better hydrated, firmer and less wrinkled.
Depending on the condition of the skin, different types of products will be used:
the superficial peel with fruit acids (glycolic acid) is ideal for dull and wrinkled facial skin, uneven skin tone, oily skin, pimples acné́ and stained skin.
the medium peel with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is conseillé́ for more pronounced fine lines, pigmentation spots, dilated pores, inflammatory and cystic acné́ and small scars from acné́. It can be performed on the entire face or only on part of it (eye contour, around the mouth). It acts more deeply by stimulating collagen synthesis. TCA can be combined with depigmenting agents to treat melasma (pregnancy mask).
The strong peel uses a chemical solution of phenol applied to the skin under local or general anaesthesia. It is the most effective treatment for deep peri-oral and peri-orbital wrinkles and localized brown spots.
